[16 Apr 2009|11:47pm] |
My corset i bought from Alter-Ego Erotics came today and it is great! I was surprised at how good the quality is, even though it is not custom. I am looking forward to when they have the other one I want back in stock in my size..... and they have a lovely green one as well. I had heard good things about this retailer and her products and I am pleased say it was true. huzzah!

| Dress! |
[08 Apr 2009|06:11pm] |
The dress has arrived and it is even better than expected! The fabric is quality, the cut is great! I think I need a crinoline to go underneath, as it looks really cute puffed out. I am also going to stitch the top pleats together a bit to keep them from going all cattiwumpus, as is their wont. I want a more polished look.
SO PLEASED!
I also made myself a skirt today (McCalls 5431). I cut it out the other night, and it took about 2.5 hours to sew it up today. I think it would make a cute ren faire peasant skirt if I add a longer border, I am undecided on it. it's long. and full. I think a plainer fabric than what I choose would have worked better, but I really liked this pattern... maybe i will post photos soon.

| A little madness in the Spring.... |

A little madness in the Spring Is wholesome even for the King, But God be with the Clown — Who ponders this tremendous scene — This whole Experiment of Green — As if it were his own!

I made my first cheesecake last night! It turned out awesome! I have made it to bring into work tomorrow to celebrate the Spring Equinox. It is a Chocolate Guinness Cheesecake with a handmade hazelnut chocolate crust. OMG it is so good. I stare at it and drool.
and i want to sing the Cheesecake Truck song at it.....

| New York City Accommodations? |
[09 Mar 2009|03:00pm] |
So I am off to NYC in early May and I'd love some suggestions for where to stay from thurs-sat. Sunday I will be shacking up at the hotel in Queens where Aris'c wedding is.
Someone mentioned The Pod Hotel, which looks cute, but a little pricey- not toooo bad for NYC though.
Ideas? :) Thanks!

An Arundel Tomb Side by side, their faces blurred, The earl and countess lie in stone, Their proper habits vaguely shown As jointed armour, stiffened pleat, And that faint hint of the absurd - The little dogs under their feet.
Such plainness of the pre-baroque Hardly involves the eye, until It meets his left-hand gauntlet, still Clasped empty in the other; and One sees, with a sharp tender shock, His hand withdrawn, holding her hand.
They would not think to lie so long. Such faithfulness in effigy Was just a detail friends would see: A sculptor's sweet commissioned grace Thrown off in helping to prolong The Latin names around the base.
They would not guess how early in Their supine stationary voyage The air would change to soundless damage, Turn the old tenantry away; How soon succeeding eyes begin To look, not read. Rigidly, they
Persisted, linked, through lengths and breadths Of time. Snow fell, undated. Light Each summer thronged the glass. A bright Litter of birdcalls strewed the same Bone-riddled ground. And up the paths The endless altered people came,
Washing at their identity. Now, helpless in the hollow of An unarmorial age, a trough Of smoke in slow suspended skeins Above their scrap of history, Only an attitude remains:
Time has transfigured them into Untruth. The stone fidelity They hardly meant has come to be Their final blazon, and to prove Our almost-instinct almost true: What will survive of us is love.
